USW presents 'Barhau'
Due to the success of SELF, at last year’s Cardiff Fashion Week, the University of South Wales are pleased to be invited to present their students collections for the second year. Changing from last year, the university has opened up the opportunity to students, graduates and members of staff to contribute to the final show. They are keen to show the full circle of education from student to professional within the industry.
In support of Cardiff Fashion Week, the University of South Wales will be running their own events during the week, all taking place at the Atrium building, the centre for creative industries. In the hope of creating a larger fashion voice in wales, the concept behind those who have set up Cardiff Fashion week.
The title of the University of South Wales collective collaboration is Barhau – which is Welsh for continuing or enduring. They are determined to lead the way of thinking and designing, focusing on sustainability, with the belief that fashion needs to become more ethical, socially aware and responsible in order to meet the demands of the modern consumer and the demands of our world’s changing resources.
